Leo’s Beach Bar in El Cotillo at golden hour
Our story

A beach bar for everyone

We opened in 2017 with an oven from Napoli and one rule: nobody should feel priced out of dinner by the sea.

01

Why here

El Cotillo is a fishing village that never quite turned into a resort, and we liked that about it. The wind comes off the Atlantic, the lagoons stay calm enough to swim in all day, and by evening the whole place slows down. We wanted to feed that — not to dress it up.

02

Why an oven from Napoli

Because you cannot fake it. A Neapolitan oven holds a floor temperature that ordinary ovens simply do not reach, and without it you get a different food entirely: a bread base with toppings, not a Neapolitan pizza. So the oven came over from Naples, brick by brick, and it has been running ever since.

03

Why we import the ingredients

Flour behaves differently. Dry pasta behaves differently. Tomatoes taste different. We tried the shortcuts and we did not like the result, so we buy Italian and we absorb the cost. What we will not do is charge you extra for it.

04

Why the prices stay low

A holiday should not be a series of small financial decisions. Families with three kids eat here. So do people who came alone with a paperback, and people who have been in the water since the morning. Keeping the card cheap is not a promotion — it is the point of the place.

Come and see us

On the sand in El Cotillo

We are on Avenida los Lagos, on the north side of the village, right where El Cotillo meets the lagoons. Walk in and grab a table, or call ahead if you are a big group.
